The role

OPEXEngine is evolving and seeking a Data Team Lead to manage, enhance, and scale our benchmark database, which sits at the core of our product offering. As our Data Team Lead, you will report to the VP, Strategy and Operations and manage our Database Engineer. You will be the bridge between the customer-facing delivery team and our tech/engineering team, helping to translate customer feedback into new product features and helping customers get the most out of our data and platform. You will be the owner of our SQL Benchmarking Database – leading management and enhancements. You will also play a major role in supporting recurring and ad hoc analyses using our database to identify valuable insights for our customers. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to influence our product roadmap, collaborating with Delivery and Sales to identify new features and working with the Tech team to scope and deliver them onto our data platform.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead benchmark validation and calculation for 250+ SaaS metrics and act as the subject matter expert for our benchmark database and metrics
  • Manage our database by leading data ingestion, validation, and database enhancements
  • Support recurring and ad hoc analyses leveraging our proprietary and public databases
  • Partner with our VP of Strategy & Operations and our Tech Lead to influence our product roadmap by identifying new product features based on customer feedback, prioritizing and scoping features to develop our ongoing roadmap

Minimum qualifications

  • 2+ years in a senior data analyst or data architect role (prior management experience a plus but not required)
  • Extensive experience with MySQL databases, Python, Excel
  • Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills
  • Experience explaining data concepts to non-technical stakeholders (direct experience with external customers a plus but not required)
  • Willingness to learn about SaaS (prior work experience in SaaS a plus but not required)

U.S. Compensation Information

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with employer contribution, and OPEXEngine’s benefits package. Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized base salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000.  Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training, and skill level.
