OPEXEngine Welcomes Nikki Turner

February 8, 2022

On January 24th, Nikki Turner joined the OPEXEngine team as Strategic Finance Consultant. In her new role, she will partner with tech finance executives to evaluate their operational and financial performance against their respective cohorts, while assisting them in implementing various usage models that leverage proprietary OPEXEngine benchmark data. Her appointment to this new role comes on the heels of substantial company growth following the Bain & Co. September acquisition of OPEXEngine, and promises to provide a new, concierge-like experience for the company’s tech clients. A natural fit to partner with OPEXEngine customers to solve their most complex operational and financial performance challenges through benchmarking, Turner shares, “The mental exercise of problem-solving really motivates me. I’m the go-to person for all my friends and family. From navigating a philosophical issue they may be grappling with—to charting an entirely new professional course —it’s my superpower!” Turner brings a wealth of experience to her new position from both the finance and tech realms where she started her career in engineering before holding several senior corporate finance roles at tech giants HP, Intel, and Gilead Sciences. Most recently, she founded The CFO District, a consulting firm that advances Miami-based tech startups from the ideation stage to cash flow-positive, profitable business. Her professional engagements have taken her around the world—from China and South America to virtually every corner of the U.S. She’ll tell you her reverence for entrepreneurial vision was a big draw for her to join OPEXEngine. “Lauren Kelley is a super entrepreneur! How often is it that you have an opportunity to work with someone so successful? It’s a privilege being here and having access to her domain and industry expertise.” And while she’ll admit the moves she’s made might have appeared scary—the risks she took were invariably worth it. “The tech world talked about the art of the pivot over the last few years,” she recalls. “This has always been my model while managing my career and life. Starting on the technical side, and then pivoting to corporate FP&A ultimately led me to start my own tech CFO consulting company. And now I get a chance to marry these experiences and work for the world’s largest SaaS benchmarking firms inside of Bain & Company’s Proprietary Data Ventures group!”Turner will support OPEXEngine from Miami, where she is an active board member of Wellspring Counseling and Touching Miami with Love. She holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University. Welcome to the team, Nikki!
